Introducing Dixons Academies Trust
We are a small well-established Multi-Academy Trust of 4 secondary academies, 3 primaries and 1 all-through academy, serving communities in Bradford and Leeds. Our mission is to lead educational improvement in the region through high performing academies which value diversity and maximise student achievement. We ensure that Dixons students have high aspirations and our collective ambition brings about success. Students learn together in well-ordered and happy communities, from all cultures and backgrounds across the cities. We have recently opened a 3-19 academy in Chapeltown which is the first academy of a small hub we aim to build in Leeds over the next 3 years.

Dixons Teacher Training offers places in the following areas for 2018/19:
For exceptional trainees we can guarantee an NQT position in one of our Dixons schools for 2019-20. Only for EBacc subjects: English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, MFL and Primary.
We are looking for excellent graduates who have enthusiasm, commitment and can offer inspiration to young people, and who will work well in a successful environment as part of a team of highly professional staff.
School led teacher training was ideal for me as I wanted to be part of a school from the very first day. Receiving support from experienced staff, working within a well-established school whilst also having training was a great introduction to my teaching career. The tutors from school and university complemented each other well and meant that we had a great range of practical examples and advice to draw on.
Having placements in two different Dixons schools whilst continuing with professional study sessions equipped me with the best possible start for my teaching career. The coaching I received developed my confidence, my presence in the classroom improved and I was able to develop positive relationships with all my students. Training with Dixons also supported me to secure a job within the Group of schools relatively early which meant that I could focus on my training.
Now that I am an NQT, working for an outstanding school, I realise I am really well prepared to take on the challenges that teaching brings. I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to begin my career with Dixons and can see exciting opportunities to develop my career further in the future. I would recommend the training to teach with Dixons to anyone looking to start their career in teaching.
